DESCRIPTION
Speed up the realignment of the centres after using your lathe in 'outboard mode' with the Rotur Lathe Alignment Tool. When working on large workpieces, you might need to swivel the headstock. This makes it necessary to accurately realign the lathe centres when resuming turning between centres. To realign the headstock with the tailstock, simply insert the Alignment Tool into the headstock's spindle taper, much like a traditional drive centre. Loosen the clamp to swivel the headstock, then adjust the tailstock so that the other end of the Alignment Tool fits into the tailstock's spindle taper. Lightly tighten the tailstock and lock the headstock clamp to prevent further swivelling. Slide the tailstock back and remove the tool using the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). The Rotur lathe centres are crafted from top - notch EN8M Steel. The one - piece design keeps the integral points secure. Available in 1MT and 2MT. Proudly made in the UK by Planet Plus Ltd. 2MT: LAT2
How to use: First, when you've used your lathe in 'outboard mode' and need to realign the centres, insert the Alignment Tool into the headstock's spindle taper like you would a traditional drive centre. Then, loosen the clamp to swivel the headstock. Move the tailstock so that the other end of the tool fits into its spindle taper. Tighten the tailstock a bit and lock the headstock clamp. Finally, slide the tailstock back and use the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265) to remove the tool. Note: Make sure to handle the tool gently during installation and removal to avoid damage. When swivelling the headstock, be careful not to over - rotate. Maintenance: Keep the tool clean and dry. You can wipe it down with a clean cloth after each use. If it gets dirty, use a mild cleaning agent and dry it thoroughly. Store it in a safe place to prevent it from getting bumped or scratched.
