DESCRIPTION
The Rotur Lace Bobbin Turning Drive is a game - changer for turning lace bobbins on a lathe without a chuck. Its drive mouth measures 12mm square at the opening and gradually tapers down to 7mm over a 14.5mm depth. This design makes it highly versatile. First, simply insert the Lace Bobbin Drive into the headstock spindle. Then, place a square dowel rod in the tapered mouth and support it with a rotating centre in the tailstock. You can then shape your lace bobbin as desired and cut it off at the headstock end. What's great is that this drive centre isn't just for lace bobbins; it can be used for various small turning projects. It comes in two options: 1MT (model LBD1) and 2MT, giving you more choices for your turning needs.
Using the Rotur Lace Bobbin Turning Drive is quite straightforward. First, insert it into the headstock spindle of your lathe. Next, put a square dowel rod into the tapered mouth of the drive. Make sure to support the rod with a rotating centre in the tailstock. Now you're ready to start shaping your lace bobbin or other small turning projects. Just turn the material into your desired shape and then cut it off at the headstock end. When using this tool, always ensure that the lathe is set to a safe and appropriate speed. Also, check that the dowel rod is firmly placed in the drive and well - supported by the tailstock. For maintenance, keep the drive clean and dry. After each use, wipe it down to remove any debris or dust. You can also apply a light coat of lubricant to the metal parts to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
