The Rotur Hollow Rotating Centre is a top - notch tool for long hole boring with a 5/16” bore. It builds on the Rotur Standard Duty Rotating Centre, equipped with two high - quality deep groove ball - bearing races. This centre is extremely handy for spindle turning, especially when there's a risk of the centre point splitting the stock. It comes with a removable 60 - degree centre point for general turning tasks. The set includes a hollow rotating centre, a removable nose cone that can be used as a standard rotating centre, and a 325mm long centring rod to align the workpiece centre when the point is removed. Machined from high - quality EN8M steel, it's available in 1MT and 2MT options and is proudly made in the UK by Planet Plus Ltd. 1MT: HRC1
Using the Rotur Hollow Rotating Centre is quite easy. First, if you're doing long hole boring, make sure the 5/16” bore is properly aligned with your workpiece. For general turning operations, you can use the removable 60 - degree centre point. When you need to use it as a standard rotating centre, simply attach the removable nose cone. To line up the centre of the workpiece, use the 325mm long centring rod after removing the point. As for maintenance, keep it clean from dust and debris.
