DESCRIPTION
The Rotur drive centres are a great choice for all kinds of spindle work. The centre point sticks out further than the prongs, making alignment quick and hassle - free. With sharp points and prongs, they can easily dig into the timber for a firm hold. The 2 - prong drive centres are ideal for timber with uneven ends, while the 4 - prong ones are better for squared spindle ends, ensuring each prong penetrates the timber evenly for maximum grip. You can easily remove these centres from the lathe using the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). Machined from top - notch EN8M Steel, the one - piece design keeps the integral points stable. They come in 1MT and 2MT options and are proudly made in the UK by Planet Plus Ltd. The 1/2 4 - Prong 2MT model is numbered 1242.
Using the Rotur drive centre is simple. First, choose the right model (2 - prong for uneven - ended timber or 4 - prong for squared ends). Install it on your lathe. The centre point that sticks out more helps you align it quickly with the timber. Then, start your lathe and let the sharp points and prongs dig into the wood for a good grip. When you're done, use the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265) to remove the drive centre from the lathe. As for maintenance, keep it clean after each use. You can wipe it with a dry cloth. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust. Also, check the points and prongs regularly for any signs of wear and tear. If you notice any issues, it might be time to replace the drive centre.
