The Rotur Piloted Driving Center / Counterbore Centre is a versatile tool ideal for all kinds of spindle work and specifically designed for long hole boring. When crafting lamp stands, the counterbore insert precisely centers the drive centre in a 5/16' hole. Its 4-prong head is perfect for squared spindle ends, ensuring each prong penetrates the timber evenly for a super-strong grip. The head is relieved behind the flutes to prevent any binding issues. When you use the centre point insert, it sticks out further than the prongs, making alignment quick and easy. The sharp point and prongs can effortlessly pierce the timber for a secure hold. You can easily remove the drive centre from the lathe with the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). This product comes with an interchangeable point, counterbore, and hex key. Rotur drive centres are machined from top-quality EN8M Steel. The one-piece design keeps the integral points firmly in place. Using this Rotur driving center is straightforward. First, choose the appropriate insert for your task, whether it's the counterbore insert for lamp stand work or the centre point insert for alignment. Place the driving center on the lathe and insert it into the spindle end. When working with squared spindle ends, the 4-prong head will grip the timber well. Remember, the centre point insert sticks out more than the prongs, which helps with quick alignment. To remove the driving center from the lathe, use the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). As for maintenance, keep the driving center clean after each use. Wipe off any sawdust or debris. Since it's made of high - quality EN8M Steel, it's durable, but avoid using it on extremely hard materials that could damage the prongs or the point.
