DESCRIPTION
The Rotur drive centres are an excellent choice for all kinds of spindle work. The centre point extends beyond the prongs, allowing for quick and effortless alignment. With their sharp point and prongs, they can easily dig into the timber, providing a firm and secure grip. The 2-prong drive centres are ideal for timber with uneven ends, while the 4-prong versions are better suited for squared spindle ends, ensuring each prong penetrates the timber equally for maximum holding power. You can easily remove these centres from the lathe using the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). These drive centres are crafted from top-quality EN8M steel. Their one-piece design guarantees that the integral points won't come loose. They are available in 1MT and 2MT specifications and are proudly made in the UK by Planet Plus Ltd. The 1 4 Prong 1MT model has the code 0141.
Using the Rotur drive centre is easy. First, make sure your lathe is turned off. Select the appropriate 2 - prong or 4 - prong drive centre based on the shape of your timber's ends. If the ends are squared, the 4 - prong version is a great pick as it gives better grip. If the ends are uneven, go for the 2 - prong one. Place the drive centre on the lathe and use the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265) to secure it properly. When aligning, note that the centre point will help you get it right quickly. Once everything is set, turn on the lathe and start your spindle work. As for maintenance, after each use, clean the drive centre with a dry cloth to remove any sawdust or debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. Also, check the integral points regularly to ensure they haven't become loose or dull. If they do, it might be time to replace the drive centre.
