DESCRIPTION
The 1 1/2' Rotur drive centres are ideal for all kinds of large spindle work. Its centre point sticks out more than the prongs, enabling quick and effortless alignment. The sharp point and prongs can easily dig into the timber, providing a firm hold. The 2 - prong drive centres are great for timber with uneven ends, while the 4 - prong ones are better for squared spindle ends, ensuring each prong penetrates the timber evenly for maximum grip. You can easily remove these centres from the lathe using the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265). Made from high - quality EN8M Steel with a one - piece design, these drive centres prevent the integral points from coming loose. They are available in 1MT and 2MT and are proudly made in the UK by Planet Plus Ltd. The 1 1/2 2 - Prong 2MT model has the code 11222.
Using this Rotur drive centre is easy. First, select the right type of drive centre based on your timber's end shape - 2 - prong for uneven ends and 4 - prong for squared ends. Then, align the centre point with the timber. The centre point protruding more than the prongs makes this alignment quick. Place the drive centre on the lathe. The sharp point and prongs will grip the timber firmly. When you're done, use the Rotur knockout bar (TKO265) to remove the drive centre from the lathe. As for maintenance, keep the drive centre clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to excessive moisture, as it's made of steel and could rust. Also, don't use it with timber that's too hard as it might damage the prongs. Check the integral points regularly to make sure they're not loose.
