The KA100 exhaust pipe comes with a welded EGT bung straight from the factory. This bung is versatile, suitable for both the Big Nut EGT sensor style and the 5mm external thread small EGT sensor. However, out of the box, the pipe isn't ready for either sensor. For the Big Nut Style EGT, you'll need to drill a small hole at the bottom of the pipe bung to insert the sensor. If you choose the 5mm External Thread Style EGT sensor, you'll have to grind or cut down the EGT bung to the 'flat' and then drill the center, being careful not to remove the inner 5mm threads. Sometimes, you may need to run a 5mm tap through the hole after cutting and drilling to clean the threads. Comet can prepare the bung for you. Just select the option from the dropdown menu. Using this KA100 exhaust pipe is a breeze. First, decide which EGT sensor you want to use - the Big Nut Style or the 5mm External Thread Style.
